prserv.exe version 2.0

|
To assist in troubleshooting, you have been provided with an executable
|
|
file (prserv.exe) to be run on your PC. Prserv.exe serves as a log server
|
|
that captures debug information sends by the ATA software to your PC's IP
|
|
address/port. Prserv.exe will compile the debug information from the ATA
|
|
into a readable log file. To enable your ATA to send its debug information,
|
|
you need to set the NPRINTF configuration parameter to your PC IP address
|
|
and an available port, illustrated as follows:
|
|
|
|
<IP address>.<port>
|
|
|
|
where <IP address> is the IP address of your PC, and <port> is any
|
|
unused port (can be any number from 1024 to 65535) on your PC.
|
|
|
|
To enter the IP address and port number, use voice menu (IVR) option 81#
|
|
(or from the ATA configuration web page, look for the NPRINTF parameter).
|
|
From the voice menu, you will use * for entering the dot character:
|
|
|
|
e.g., for a computer with the IP address 192.168.2.170 and an unused
|
|
port number 9001 (192.168.2.170.9001), you would enter the following
|
|
on your telephone handset:
|
|
|
|
192*168*2*170*9001#
|
|
|
|
Follow the voice menu option to save the parameter value.
|
|
|
|
To operate the debug capture program "prserv.exe", place the prserv
|
|
program in a folder on your PC, and at the DOS prompt of the folder
|
|
where you have placed it, enter:
|
|
|
|
C:>prserv <port>
|
|
|
|
where <port> is the port number you have selected. If <port> is omitted,
|
|
the port assumed is 9001.
|
|
|
|
The output of the debug information recieved by prserv is sent to
|
|
the DOS screen and the file <port>.log (in this case, 9001.log).
|
|
|
|
Once you are finished capturing debug information, you can stop the log
|
|
program by entering CNTL-C at the DOS prompt. If you restart the process
|
|
without changing the name of the log file, any new debug information
|
|
will be appended to the end of the original file.
|
|
|
|
|
|
NOTE: This version of prserv contains -t option, when specified, will
|
|
record the local time on the PC when each line of debug trace log
|
|
is received. e.g.
|
|
C> prserv -t 9001
|
|
|
|
